Interesting design, interesting layout.

Another interesting layout, and I love the results.

Another interesting layout, and I love the results.
read moreBoth these designs are medallion quilts, a large block surrounded by one or two rows of applique blocks, then a frame of plain strip borders.
I love the block designs, love the layouts, love just about every quilt design I have found when playing with the blocks.
Interesting, but I am not sure if I like it, but it could be an interesting playground to play with the blocks and see what else can happen with them.
The second design is much more to my liking!
read moreInteresting design.
I am thinking that I want some simpler block designs, but will try to simplify some of the current designs rather than introduce totally different blocks. Nothing like setting myself a challenge!

I like both designs today … no favourite.
read moreA medallion design has a centre design surrounded by several borders. The blocks in this series are based on a bulb I call Thumbelina.
Blue is far from my favourite colour, but it work well in these block designs.
read moreI am wondering how many beaded blocks I have in my collection.
I suspect it may be easier to count the beads than the blocks as some of them are very similar, or neater drawings of the same block.
I like both of these designs.
read moreNice design, and a very interesting border. I wonder if I play with real beads if I could make something like that.
Second design is an interesting collection of block designs.
read moreMore beads, with some of them added over the seam lines between the blocks.
I like both of these, and both of yesterday’s designs.
What is not to like about beads, fabric, plastic, glass, stones … just organise them into a nice line!
The leaf shape of the beads has to be one of the most versatile shapes available for us to use on applique blocks. There must be many millions of possible designs … I should count how many I have drawn up but I am pretty sure I could expand the number by lots if I stop designing quilts with what I already have.
The second design uses the same layout as the first, just the blocks have changes.

The best part of going to quilt exhibitions is seeing something totally different when you walk around a corner … and possibly meet a friend too!
read moreA few applique blocks, and a few quilted motifs.
These designs would work in any two colours with good contrast with rather stunning results.
read moreOne of my very favourite project files.
I love the colours, and the blocks are a varied collection of applique and pieced designs, which of course have been modified a little!
read moreA bit more colour than yesterday’s designs.
Today’s two designs are very similar, but with the positions of the colours swapped around.
Easter Wedding season is coming up quickly, but probably a bit late to start making a quilt.
Not too late to start one for their 10th wedding anniversary though.
I love both designs today.
More lovely floral blocks.
I’ve had a thought … if I combined the Floppy Petal and Petal Power blocks in a project file I could name it Floppy Petal Flowers.
