Interesting but a bit tangled up!
Almost the same design, with some extra applique in the border, and the colours have been stirred a bit!

Very interesting design … impressive, even if I do say so myself.
I like the second one too, but my favourite for today is the first one.

Love the first design for today!
Love the second one too, even if my head had to be in a spin when I designed those blocks!
It is ANZAC day today ….
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
We will remember them
Lest we forget
I think pink, purple and green are my favourite colour combination!
Simple, but I love it … and would love it more in reality after it was quilted!

Very pretty, and in my Mum’s favourite colours. I had to ask Mum what her favourite colour was when I was going to make them a quilt, and I had never noticed a preference in what colours she wore or what colours she used to decorate the house, but pretty much all the colours she used work well with purple.
Still pretty, although a little less space for quilting to be a feature.

Fiddly, but the results would look great on a bed.
The second design is may favourite for today.

Should have named this after my Mum … purple was her favourite colour.
Mmm! I didn’t turn all the quilting motifs around the right way … though perhaps I couldn’t decide which way was right!
I think I like the way it is on the right.

Oh, so pretty! Oh, so many tiny flowers to applique, though perhaps they could be embroidered, by hand or machine. The machine sounds like a good option!
If it was to be a real wedding quilt the block spaces could be used for wedding guests to sign, along with details of the wedding party and immediate family.

Looks old even though I played with the designs in this project file this morning, and added about five new designs, including the two I am sharing today.
The second one doesn’t look near as old as the first design even of it is only a few minutes newer than the first!

Interesting design, especially the quilting … simple, but very effective.
In the second design the quilting motif in the first is an applique design!

I love buildings with iron lacework around verandas and balconies, and enjoy dreams of seeing quilts, and maybe carpets made using variations of the designs used by the ironmongers.
The shapes also make great quilting motifs. I love the second design.

It has been a while since I opened this project file, and I had sort of forgotten what was in it, but I was impressed when I opened it this morning.
I love the strong contrast between light and dark. I should have looked for 4 very light fabrics but used just one to achieve the contrast I wanted. I would use the same fabric for the last round of logs and teh filler around the outside of the hexagonal pieced blocks.
Interesting experiment in teh second design … I turned the colours used for the logs inside out in the ...

Pretty dainty!
I wonder how many petals I would have to cut out to make either of these? Printing on fabric would be an option, or better still, machine embroidery.

Mostly brown with a touch of green of plants that are looking forward to some winter rain … that is autumn here in Australia.
My favourite today is the second design as I like the change of blocks around the centre blocks..

I love the strip borders with tangled corners, but would like to be able to redraft the applique borders to be more symmetrical, perhaps by removing the inner applique border around the centre block, or making it wider.
I love the second design … the applique is minimal, but well balanced, and there is a lot or room for some fairly simple quilting to shine. I would avoid too many busy feathers, but would use the fan shape used in the applique with a fair bit of background filling.

Pretty and purple designs today, but still flowery like yesterday’s designs.
Like yesterday, I cannot pick a favourite as I love them both, but I think I would enjoy making yesterday’s designs more than todays … cutting all those petals would drive me insane!.

Oh, so pretty!
I think these designs would make great machine embroidery designs … could be a fun experiment.
I think my favourite is the first one, but maybe not.

I love the quilting designs in both of today’s virtual quilts.
In addition to the lines in blank areas of the quilt design I would outline quilt all the applique pieces.
Love the centre of the second quilt … particularly the quilting lines.
Ooops! Pity I missed a bit of quilting in the top row!
