Red and White Applique 11, 12 from Virtual Quilter

Who needs a dozen, or two, different colours to make an applique quilt!

One hint if you choose red as one of the colours … make sure you only bleed on the red fabric!

However, make sure you wash the red fabrics very well before cutting to stop the fabric bleeding.

This will be my last post as the Virtual Quilter here on WordPress. I am looking for a new home for the quilt designs, but have other issues to deal with so will leave a note here when I can find the new home and the other issues are dealt ...

White On Colour 21, 22 from Virtual Quilter

Red is not my favourite colour, except perhaps during the Christmas season, but I love this design!

Green is one of my favourite colours all through the year, and I love this design too.

Applique Tiles 11, 12 from Virtual Quilter

I designed these thinking of fabric applique tiles on a bed.

But what about ceramic tiles in the bathroom, or carpet tiles in the lounge or bedroom?

Or machine embroidered on curtains or clothing?

A Whiter Shade on Gold Quilted 25, 26 from Virtual Quilter

I love seeing old buildings with iron lace decorations, and would love to see new iron lace trims.

I also like playing with quilt designs with low contrast, and have a collection of projects featuring iron lace designs with low contrast.

I have modified a few of the blocks but there are no modified blocks in today’s designs.

EQ Dozen + Quilting 29, 30 from Virtual Quilter

In my early playtimes with Electric Quilt I selected blocks from the EQ library, and kept rearranging them to see what happened.

I am still finding interesting designs twenty years later!

Very little applique in the second design, but the quilting in contrast thread shows up well, with space for filler designs as well.

Interesting, though with all those spinning flower heads I would quilt the background with straight lines.

Tina’s Trumpet Flower 9, 10 from Virtual Quilter

It has been cloudy for several days, with more coming, so it is nice to be able to share something with some nice bright flowers while I am waiting for the spring bulbs to appear and get ready to flower in a couple of months time.

Love the colours in these designs.

Love all five of these designs.

The middle one is my favourite .

Love the simplicity of the next one.

I think this has to be my all round favourite collection of all my posts, but that could change any time in the future.
